Brian LeRoy Smith Sr.

          Brian LeRoy Smith Sr., 61, of New Bethlehem, formerly of Summerville, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at his apartment in New Bethlehem.

          He was born on November 15, 1956 in Brookville to the late Leroy Morrison and Betty Jane (Bish) Smith.  He attended Brookville Area High School.  He worked as a heavy equipment operator.  He was a member of the Church of Christ Church in Summerville.

          Brian was a former member of the Brookville Firemen's Club.  He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, operating heavy equipment, and rock n' roll music.

          Brian is survived by a two sons, Brian Leroy Smith JR. and wife Rowena R. Smith of Charlotte NC, and Matthew David Smith, of Monroe, NC; two grandchildren, Janielynn Grace Smith of Charlotte, NC and Jackson Smith of Monroe, NC.

          Along with his parents, Brian is preceded in death by a brother, Douglas C. Smith.  

          Friends and family will be received on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 5 - 8 PM, at the Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad Street, Summerville, PA.  A Funeral service will be held on Saturday May 19, 2018 at 10 AM at the Church of Christ with Mike Smith officiating.  Interment will follow in Vandervort Cemetery, Clover Twp. Jefferson Co.
