Daniel Hilyer

Daniel Leroy Hilyer, 59 of Marienville, passed away on Thursday January 3, 2019 at his home.

He was born on February 13, 1959 in Brookville, the son of the late Wayne Leroy "Buck" and Dorthy Grace (Swonger) Hilyer.  Daniel was married to Tammy Lorraine Buterbaugh on December 8, 1978 in Warren Ohio, she survives in Marienville.

Daniel was a native to Marienville.  He was a professional lumber inspector for Northwest Hardwoods for approx 30 years until becoming disabled.  In his spare time Daniel enjoyed taking walks with his faithful companion, Tiny, a Jack Russell Terrier of 14 years.

Along with his wife, Daniel is survived by a son, Daniel J. Hilyer and wife Jennifer; a daughter, Jennifer Claypool; three brothers, Steve, William, and Fred Hilyer; three sisters, Faith Capretti, Wanda Hilyer, and Carol Spaudling; and four grandchildren, Shawn, Joshua, Autumn, and Hazel.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents Daniel is preceded in death by a brother Samuel Wayne Hilyer.

There will be no Funeral service or viewing.  A private interment will take place on Monday January 7, 2019, at the Guitonville Cemetery, with Rev. Dan Richter officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to help with burial expenses.
