David C. Bush

David C. Bush Sr., 82, of Summerville, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Penn Highlands DuBois.

He was born on November 9, 1935 in Punxsutawney, PA the son of the late Samuel T. Bush and Velma (Blose) Bush. On May 12, 1959 in Johnsonburg, PA he married Dorothy (Brace) Bush, she survives.

He was a 1953 graduate Clarion Limestone High School.

Retired, David had worked as a heavy equipment operator for P and N Coal Company in Punxsutawney.

David was an avid outdoorsmen, his hobbies included: hunting, fishing, gardening, wood working, reading and his beloved dog Molly.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy Bush of Summerville, a son, David C. Bush Jr. and his wife Dorothy of Summerville, three daughters: Patricia Jenkins and her husband Mike of Thompson, GA, Virginia L. Shumaker of Summerville, PA and Vicki Geer and her husband Ken of Summerville; seven grandchildren: Dennis, Tonya, Shane, Allison, Ashley, Cody and Dillon; two great grandchildren: Natalie and Ariana; he is also survived by a brother, Ronald Bush and his wife Janet of TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, Samuel T. Bush Jr..

Friends and family will be received on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 12-1PM at the Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad Street, Summerville, PA.  A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Henry Scoff officiating.
