David C. Smith

David Christopher Smith, 83 of Marienville, passed away on Friday January 4, 2019 at Snyder Memorial Health Center in Marienville.

He was born on July 28, 1935 in Nassau, The Bahamas, the son of the late Blatchley and Elizabeth L. (Cartwright) Smith.  David was a graduate of Augustinian Academy and Fordham University where he obtained his B.A.  David was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army.  He was married to Patricia Meehan on January 27, 1962 in Staten Island, N.Y.  They later divorced.  He was employed in Real Estate in Staten Island, N.Y.  He was of the Roman Catholic Faith.

David is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Smith-Prior and husband Richard E. Pryor II, and Katherine Hewitt and husband Robert; three brothers, Quentin, Charles, and Paul Smith; three sisters, Thelma Washington, Bernadette Norris, and Lucille Swarns; and four grandchildren.

Along with his parents David is preceded in death by two brothers, Charles, and Edmund Smith.

There will be no Funeral Service or Viewing.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong Funeral Home, 140 Cherry St., Marienville, PA.
