E. Gaynell Fenstermaker

Elsie Gaynell Fenstermaker, 90, of Brookville, formerly of Hazen, died on Friday April 27, 2018 at Penn Highlands Hospital in Brookville.

          Born on February 10, 1928, Gaynell was the daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy (Hamm) Jack.  She was a graduate of Clarion High School.  On August 23, 1945 she was married to James K. Fenstermaker.  He preceded her in death on September 10, 2006.  Gaynell was employed at the Brookville Hospital as an in hospital patient transport for over 35 years until she retired.  She was a member of Heathville United Methodist Church until it closed.

          Gaynell enjoyed camping with her family.  She loved watching her grandchildren playing sports, especially soccer.  She also loved to cook.

          Gaynell is survived by three sons, Ron "Janine" Fenstermaker of Newark, DE, Tim "Marti" Fenstermaker of Hazen, PA, Ben Fenstermaker and friend Jen of Summerville, PA; three daughters, Dee "Bill" Brown of Summerville, Kendra "David" Wolfe of Shippenville, Tammy Philipson of Elkton, MD; a step daughter Gay Bright of Sharon, PA, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

          She was preceded in death by two step sons, Kenneth and James Fenstermaker; a step daughter Barbara Smith; two sisters, Mable Spangler, and Judy Crawford; a grandson Izzy Fenstermaker, and two great-granddaughters, Isabella and Taylor Sturdivant.

          Friends and family will be received on Monday, April 30, 2018 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the Furlong Funeral Home, Gregory K. Furlong, FD, 50 Broad Street, Summerville, PA.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Joni K. Williams of the Knox Dale United Methodist Church officiating.

          Interment will be in the Cedarview Cemetery, Clarion Twp., Clarion County.

          The family suggests memorial donations be made to Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital.
