Edward James Marshall, age 96, of Summerville, PA passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at his home in Summerville.
Edward was born on November 28, 1921 in Summerville. He was the son of the late Samuel and May (Pierce) Marshall. Edward was a graduate of Summerville High School. He married Alberta Henry in Summerville, on February 9, 1942, she precedes him in death. Edward was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Army. He was retired from Glen Gery, formerly Hanley Brick Company.
Edward was a member of the VFW. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying trapping, hunting, fishing, and gardening.
He is survived by two sons, Sam "Nancy" Marshall of Summerville, and Ed Jr. "Sharon" Marshall of Shirley, Massachusetts; a daughter, Laurie "Ron" Brumberg of Summerville; a sister Joyce Aaron of Brookville; a Sister-in-law, Jean Henry of Towanda, PA; 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Along with his parents and wife, Ed is preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Hoskin; two infant daughters; brothers, Fred and William Marshall; three sisters, Katherine Buffington, Vivian Marshall, and Jennie Bish; and an infant grandson, Kevin Hoskin.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM at the Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad Street, Summerville, PA. A funeral service with military honors will be held on Saturday July 7, 2018 at 10 AM with Rev. William Saxman officiating. Interment will follow at Vandervort Cemetery, Clover Twp., Jefferson County, PA.
