Howard W. Thorpe

Howard W. Thorpe "Butch",73, of Brookville, died July 26, 2019, at Mulberry Square in Punxsutawney.

Born May 6, 1946 Dravosburg, Pa, he was the son of the late Howard G. and Lois Wisser Thorpe.

Butch attended McKeesport High School. He was a member of the First Church of God in Brookville.

As a younger man he worked the barges on the rivers in Pittsburgh, for Dravosburg Borough and later at Glenn Sand and Gravel.

His hobbies included fishing, hunting and tinkering in the garage.

He is survived by his daughter Tammy Thorpe Williams, and her husband, Troy, of Punxsutawney; his grandchildren, Dustin Williams, and his girlfriend, Brandi Conners, of Monroeville and Megan Williams of Punxsutawney.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Donald Thorpe, and a infant sister Sandy.

Family will receive friends from 10-11am Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Vandervort Cemetery. Funeral service and interment to follow at 11am with Pastor Henry Scoff, presiding.
