James H. Leech, 91, of Summerville, died Thursday, July 26, 2018 at his home.
Born March 31, 1927 in Option, PA, (located in Alleghany County), he was the son of the late Henry G. and Mae (Blumenstein) Leech.
James went to Snowden Elementary and graduated from Snowden High School which is now South Park High School. He obtained a piano tuning certificate. On March 22, 1952 he married Dorothy Saling in Pittsburgh, she survives in Summerville. Jim was employed by Radioear Corporation until his retirement in June of 1990. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Bible Church on Sandy Flat Road, Summerville.
James enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and playing cards. He also enjoyed playing the organ and played at his church for 11 years.
Along with his wife Dorothy, James is survived by a son Dale Leech and his wife Kathy of Prosperity, PA; a daughter, Donna Lytle and husband Donny of Wellsville, OH; a sister, Nancy Harris and husband Jim of Midlothian, TX; 3 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 5 step-great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, James is preceded in death by a sister Doris Trax.
Friends and family will be received on Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 1 - 3 PM and 6 - 8 PM, and Monday July 30 from 10 - 11 AM at the Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad Street, Summerville, PA. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 11 AM with Pastor Jay Bucci officiating.
Interment will be at Jefferson Memorial Park in Pleasant Hills, Allegheny Co., PA.
