Martha M. Porter

Martha M. Porter, 79 of Corsica, PA died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 17, 2018.

She was born on December 19, 1938 in Punxsutawney to the late Michael G. and Cecelia (Heidish) Liscinsky.  She was married to Alex Porter on September 17, 1966, who preceded her in death on August 31, 2003.  Martha was employed as a legal secretary for William A. Sykes, Attorney; John E. Aikman, Attorney; and Dennison & Dennison, Attorney’s from which she retired.  Martha also volunteered at the Area Agency on Aging in Brookville.

Martha enjoyed needlework, plastic canvas, flower gardening, playing cards and spending time with her family.  She was an avid Steeler and Pirate fan.  Martha was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Brookville.  She was the secretary for the Summerville Presbyterian Church for many years.

Martha is survived by two sisters, Bertha “Paul” Koza of Oliveburg, Betty Raymer of Ambridge; four brothers, Michael “Kathy” Liscinsky of Oliveburg, Ted  “Linda” Liscinsky of Punxsutawney, Joe “Jan” Liscinsky of Punxsutawney, John Liscinsky of Punxsutawney; a nephew, Paul Jr. “Susan” Koza of Oliveburg; and nieces Sally Koza of Wellsboro, and Sandy Koza of Lansdale, along with numerous other nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad Street, Summerville, PA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 129 Graham Avenue, Brookville, PA, with Pastor William M. Laska officiating. The Committal Service will follow at the Pisgah Cemetery in Corsica, PA.
