Norman J. Ishman

Norman J. Ishman, 85, of Summerville died on Wednesday December 12, 2018 at Penn Highlands Hospital in DuBois, PA.

He was born June 22, 1933, in Summerville, PA  to the late Berge O. and Ethel (Hughes) Ishman.  He attended school in Summerville. Norman entered the U.S. Marine Corps, where he was awarded the sharp shooters medal.  He was married in Brookville on October 4, 1958 to Donna Jean Deloe, she survives in Summerville.  He was employed as a laborer at Beverage Air and Ishman Plastic and Wood Cutting Inc.  He was of the Presbyterian Faith.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Along with his wife he is survived by three children, Norman "Helen" Ishman of Summerville, Andrew "Stacey" Ishman of Mayport, Keith "Patty" Ishman of Punxsutawney; a sister, Betty Wright of Brookville; eight grandchildren, Keith Jr., Nick, Cody, Stephanie, Jacob, Stacy, Shayna, and Sarah; and five great grandchildren, Peyton, Owen, Bristol, Caleb, and Kyle.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin Ishman, Clarence Ishman, and Robert Ishman; and three sisters, Velma Sarvey, Bernice Whiteman, and Geraldine McLaughlin.

Friends and family will be received on Saturday December 15, 2018 from 2 - 4 PM and 6 - 8 PM and Sunday from 12 - 1 PM at the Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad Street, Summerville, PA.  The funeral service will follow at 1 PM.

Interment will be in the Westview Cemetery, Clover Twp., Jefferson County, PA.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
