Robert Glenn Clinger, 87, of Summerville, PA died Sunday, May 19, 2019 at his home on Settlers Rd, Summerville.
Born February 15, 1932, in New Castle, PA, he was the son of the late William Clement and Opal (Wagaman) Clinger.
Robert was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He received the Bronze Star with Valor. He was married to Shirley Eileen Klouse on June 12, 1954 at the Pleasant Hill Bible Church in Summerville where he was a member.
Robert was a member of VFW Post 204 in Brookville, American Legion Post 354 in New Bethlehem, and Free & Accepted Mason Lodge 522 in New Bethlehem. He enjoyed working around the home, mowing, and fixing things.
Along with his wife he survived by three sons, John "Debra" Clinger of Washington, PA, Joe Clinger of Summerville, and Jerry "Theresa" Clinger of DuBois, PA; a daughter Glenda "Dennis" Shreckengost, of Summerville; two brothers, Albert Clinger of Summerville, and James Clinger of Apollo, PA. Also surviving are six grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Along with his parents Robert is preceded in death by a son Robert Clinger, three brothers, William, Charles, and Andrew Clinger, and one great-grandchild.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 from 2 - 4 PM and 6 - 8 PM with a Masonic Service at 7:30 PM, and Thursday May 23, 2019 from 10 - 11 AM at the Furlong Funeral Home, corner of Broad Street and First Ave., Summerville, PA. Funeral Service with a military honor guard will follow at 11 AM with Pastor Jay Bucci of the Pleasant Hill Bible Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Shannondale Union Cemetery, Redbank Twp., Clarion Co., PA.
