Stanley Earl Garvey, 72, of Ramsaytown died Thursday October 3, 2019 at his home.
Born October 22, 1946 in Brookville, he was the son of the late Joseph and Martha (Grube) Garvey.
Stanley was a veteran serving in the US NAVY until his discharge on October 20, 1967. He was married to Mary Reid on April 12, 1965 in Port Glasgow, Scotland. He was employed at Brookville Equipment and later at McCauley Trucking as a diesel mechanic until he retired. He was a member of Ramsaytown U.M. Church.
Stan was a member of Jefferson County Long Rifles. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He enjoyed black powder cartridge rifles and old military rifles.
He is survived by a son, Dan (Vicky) Garvey of Brookville; a daughter, Nancy (Mike) Dexler, of Lisbon, Maine; two brothers, Raymond Garvey and significant other Illene of Brookville, and Mike (Roberta) Garvey of Worthville; two sisters, Fay Noonan of Brookville and Sue (Brian) Caruso of Strattanville; two grandchildren, Tyler (Deanna) Garvey of Brookville and Patrick Dexler of Lisbon, Maine; and two great-grandchildren, Johnny and Jackson.
A private service will be held at the conveniece of the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Furlong Funeral Home, corner of Broad St. and First Ave., Summerville, PA.
