Alan J. Bowser, 64, of New Bethlehem, died Sunday, August 18, 2024 while at Penn Highlands Dubois following a period of declining health.
Born September 2, 1959 in Dubois, he was the son of the late Thomas R. and Mildred H. Wells Bowser.
He was a graduate of Redbank Valley High School and was a member of the New Bethlehem VFW, Moose and Eagles.
On February 18, 2002 he married the former Donna Hartstein. She preceded him in death on October 27, 2021.
Prior to his retirement he worked as a foreman for Glen-GeryBrick Plant.
He enjoyed boating and fishing.
His survivors include his sons, Sean (Chrysta) Bowser, Sterling Bowser and Fred Clinger; his daughters, Lindsay (Ben) Bothell and Billi Sorbin; and his grandchildren, Cecylia, Cayden, Quincy, Kai, Darius and Laynee.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Bowser; his sister, Betty Hobson; and granddaughter, Clara Belle.
His family will receive friends on Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 4-6PM at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA. A funeral service will follow at 6PM at the funeral home with Pastor Jimmy Swogger, officiating.
Interment will be held Friday, August 23, 2024 at 10AM at Oakland Cemetery, Distant, PA.
