Aletta R. Carrier

Aletta Carrier, 98, of Reynoldsville, passed away at home with her family by her side on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 following a period of declining health.

Born on April 25, 1928 in Ramseytown, she was the daughter of the late James and Helen Krebs Daugherty.

She was a graduate of Brookville High School and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Community Church.

On June 28, 1950 in Clarion she married S. Paul Carrier. He preceded her in death in 1993.

Prior to having a family she had worked as a Switchboard Operator for Sylvania and after her children were born she became a stay at home Mom and spent her life caring for her family.

Her memberships included Christian Motorcyclist Association, the ladies group at church and she was a volunteer for the Brookville Food Bank.

She enjoyed bowling and was known there as the “Dancing Lady, she wrote poetry, and was fond of wearing T shirts that expressed her faith in Christ, one pastor called her “A Walking Billboard for the Lord”.

Her survivors include her daughter, Jamie (Art) Toven; her grandchildren, Allison (Michael) Dobo, Zachary (Ashley) Toven, Paul Carrier, and Jim (Shawna) Carrier; and her great grandchildren, Peyton, Hudson, Hadlyn, Bella, Nico and Hunter; her daughter in law, Lois Carrier; as well numerous extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Steve Carrier; her brother, James Daugherty; and her sisters, Louise Franceschi and Patty Daughtery.

Her family will receive friends from 5-8PM on Friday, May 29, 2026 at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA. Friends will also be received prior to the service at the church from 10:30-11AM on Saturday May 30, 2026.

A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Mt. Pleasant Community Church, 7821 Mt. Pleasant Road, Summerville, PA., with Pastor Randy Hall, officiating.

Graveside committal services will follow at Carrier Cemetery, Summerville, Jefferson County.

Her family suggests memorial contributions be made in her memory to Mt. Pleasant Community Church, Christian Motorcyclist Association (cmausa.org) or the charity of the donor’s choice.
