Amanda “Mandy” Keith, 53, of Punxsutawney, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 following a brief illness at Good Samaritan Hospice Center in Cabot,PA..
Born on April 22, 1970 in Brookville, she was the daughter of the late James and Donna Hetrick.
Mandy was a graduate of Brookville High School and obtain her associates degree in Childcare from Mid America Nazarene College in Olathe, KS.
On August 7, 1993 at Brookville Church of the Nazarene she married Pastor Gary Keith. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2014.
She was a member of Egypt Free Methodist Church in Brockway and was currently employed as a teacher at Jefferson- Clarion Head Start.
Mandy was a strong advocate for abused and orphaned children. Though her time here was brief she fostered more than 20 children and adopted 5 of them as young children. She was very active and valued in working with CYS of Jefferson County. She faithfully served the beloved members of her church and Punxsutawney Christian School. Always a joyful person, she loved freely and gave of herself and means tirelessly and endlessly. In her 53 years she did more for God, her family and community than most who have lived 100 years.
To know Mandy was to love her. Her family mourns deeply at her passing, but we mourn not without HOPE. For we know that Mandy is now in the presence of Jesus, whom she loved and served since she was a teenager and is with her parents and dear husband, Gary.
Those surviving are her sons, Caleb and Elijah Keith; her daughters, Grace, Abi-Gail and Savannah Keith; her brothers, Phil Hetrick, Chet Hetrick, Ken Hetrick, Jerry Hetrick, Eugene Smith and Roger Grubbs; her sisters, Kate Campbell, Tina Smith, Lyndell Holtz and Debbie Snyder; as well numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
