Bruce R. “Ray” Bish, 92, of Marienville died Friday, December 20, 2024 at Clarion Hospital.
Born in Brookville on January 5, 1932, he was the son of the late Bruce and Flora Stroup Bish.
He was a 1950 graduate of Hawthorn High School.
Mr. Bish proudly and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army, serving in Korea from 1952-54. For his service he was awarded the Korean Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.
In 1951 in Hawthorn he married the former Shirley Umberhocker. She survives.
Always industrious, Ray at for many years worked two jobs at the same time. Retiring in 1992 from Sharon Steel after 41 years and after 26 years from Barris in West Middlesex.
His memberships include M.T.R.S.C. (Marienville Trail Riders Snowmobile Club where he served as President in the past.
He enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting and baseball, his favorites were Polaris sleds and the L.A. Dodgers. He made many trips to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to ride and enjoy the snow.
Those surviving in addition to his wife, Shirley are his son, Rick (Lynn) Bish; and grandson, Cody Bish.
His parents and son, David Bish precedes him in death.
Interment will be held Monday, December 23, 2024 at 1PM at Hawthorn Cemetery, Hawthorn, Clarion County.
