Cindy Lou Davis Obituary

Cindy Lou (Mays) Davis, 67, of Brookville died on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at McKinnley Health Center in Brookville. Born on November 12, 1956, in Brookville, she was the daughter of the late Gil and Sara (McManigle) Mays. Cindy married John R. Davis on February 5, 1983, and they enjoyed 36 years together before he preceded her in death on June 9, 2019.

Cindy was a 1974 graduate of Brookville High School and Jeff Tech’s practical nursing program. She had a long career in the medical field, working as a licensed practical nurse and in health information management at Jefferson Manor for many years. Cindy was a thoughtful nurse and displayed a deep commitment to ensuring the residents in her care were healthy and happy.

Cindy loved her family and enjoyed hosting family holiday meals and celebrations at her home. She adored her dog, Sophie, and enjoyed gardening and tending to her houseplants. She was a devoted volunteer at the Heritage House in Brookville, supporting activities for senior citizens, and an active member of the Meade Chapel United Methodist Church. Cindy will be remembered as a beloved aunt and great-aunt who loved her nieces and nephews like her own children and was always up for a good giggle with them.

Cindy is survived by brothers Rick (Julie) Mays and Bill Mays; sister Kathy Mays; grandson Ryan Davis; niece Rhonda Mays and grandniece Charlotte Buntoro; nephew Rick (Rachael) Mays and grandnephews Macklin and Bronson, and grandniece Vivian; niece Amy Mays; niece Kelly Mangiantini and grandnephews Jackson and Emmett; nephew Justin Mays and grandnieces Alexee, Madelynn, and Emme.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Todd Mays and stepson Matt Davis.

There will be no services held at this time.

Interment will be held privately for her family at Windy Hill/St. Johns Cemetery, Stanton, Jefferson County.
