Curtiss L. Joiner, Sr., 79, of South White St., Brookville died Wednesday morning, October 27, 2021 at Dubois Nursing Home following a period of declining health.
Born in Brookville on February 11, 1942, he was the son of the late Ebenezer and Edna Minick Joiner.
He was a graduate of Brookville High School and was a former member of the Eagles and Firemen’s Club of Brookville.
Prior to his retirement he worked as an auto detailer, having worked at both Wasko Chrysler and Stoltz in the past.
Reading and watching westerns were his favored pastime.
Those surviving are his sons, Curtiss L. Joiner, Jr., Derald Joiner and Kenny Hampton; his brothers, William, Henry, Richard, James and David Joiner; his sisters, Nancy Pierce, Patty (Gary) Craig and Linda Joiner; his 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Nelson and Florence Williams.
Furlong Funeral Home was entrusted with the final arrangements for Mr. Joiner.
All services will be private and held by his family.
In lieu of flowers his family suggests memorial donations be made to Summerville Library.
Interment will be in the Brookville Cemetery.
