Daryl J. Thomas, 86, of Sigel passed away at his home on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at his home of natural causes.
Born on November 29, 1939 in Greensburg, he was the son of the late Charles and Violet “Millie” Tinsley Thomas.
On May 4, 1990 in Winchester, VA., he married the former Ellen Jean Dempsey. She survives.
Over the years prior to moving to Sigel he owned several clubs in Greensburg, and retired as owner of Thomas Service.
He was a member of Heath Twp. Sportsmens Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing and time spent with his family.
His survivors in addition to her wife are his son, Daryl Thomas, Jr., Michael Painter and Charles (Tera) Painter; his daughters, Roxanne (Kevin) Hutchinson and Diane (Dan) Zablotsky; his grandchildren, Melissa, Kellie, Ashley, Ryan, Alex, Nicolas, James, Rayleigh and Reegan; his 5 great grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Calvin Dempsey; and his sister-in-law, Bernice Williams.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Robert and Richard; as well as his sister, Hazel Hall.
Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA. was honored to be entrusted with the final arrangements for Mr. Thomas.
A “Celebration of Life” will be scheduled for a later date.
