Dawn Garretson Obituary

Dawn M. Garretson, 59, of Brookville died Wednesday, January 1, 2025 while at Cleveland Clinic.

Born on October 18, 1965 in Stratford, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Bertha Schotter.

She was a high school graduate and obtained her certification as a C.N.A.

On May 24, 2014 in Flushing, Ohio, she married Frank R. Garretson. He survives.

In the past she had been employed by Arcadia Healthcare and until her retirement due to illness LOVES Travel Center in Brookville.

She was a member of Brookville First Church of God.

She enjoyed boating, fishing and traveling when her health permitted and collecting “Beatles” memorabilia; but she LOVED spending time with her grandson, Austin and her dogs.

In addition to her husband, Frank, she is survived by her son, Michael Buhles; her daughter, Melisa Buhles; her 8 grandchildren; her brother, Bill (Fior) Vis; and her sister and husband who raised her from infancy, Sandy and Bill Eachus; her sister-in-law, Brenda Schotter; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Those preceding her in death are her mother, and her brothers, Robert and Allen Schotter.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Saturday, February 1,2025 from1-4PM at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA.

A service will be held at 3PM with Pastor Sam Wilson, Brookville First Church of God, officiating.
