Deborah “Deb” Spangler, 72, of Strattanville, died Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at her daughter’s home following an illness.
Born January 16, 1953 in Clarion, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Bessie Adams McGuire.
She was a 1971 graduate of Redbank Valley High School and of Kittanning Beauty School where she obtained a license in Cosmetology.
On May 20, 1984 in Clarion, she married Richard Spangler. He preceded her in death.
Prior to her retirement in January 2015, she had been employed in the custodial department at Clarion Area High School.
Her favorite pastime was spoiling her grandson.
Her survivors include her daughter, Amanda (Brandon) Schott; her stepson, Jake Spangler; her grandson, Logan Schott; her step grandson, Evan Hulings; her sister, Marlene (Neal) Cole; her brothers-in-law, Robert Spangler, Eugene Spangler and Jim (Ann) Spangler; her sister-in-law, Sandy (John) Reed; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Those preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband are her brother, Clair “Peck” McGuire; and her sisters, Deloris Hollenbaugh, Joanne Hollenbaugh, Linda Bailey and Molly Tanner.
Her family will receive friends on Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 2-4PM at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA.
A funeral service will immediately follow at 4PM with Pastor Carol Brown, officiating.
Her family suggests memorial donation be made in Deb’s memory to Clarion Cancer Center or Clarion-Forest V.N.A.
