Deborah L. Knapp, 66, of Brookville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family following a courageous 3 year battle with cancer.
Born February 11, 1957 in Mt. Holly, NJ, she was the daughter of the late William and Marion Schumacher.
She married Thomas Knapp. He survives.
She was a member of Brookville Church of God.
Deborah dedicated her life to her family. Being home cooking and baking and doing crafts was her HEART. She loved raising her children and enjoyed leadership roles in both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Her membership at the Brookville Church of God and serving her church is where she found real JOY. She was a mentor to others battling cancer and provided advice and prayer to help others through their journey. She was a beaming light in this world and was a genuine and loyal friend to many. Her infectious laugh, fun spirit and amazing sense of humor was contagious . She will be truly and forever missed.
In addition to her husband, Thomas E. Knapp, she is survived by her son, Thomas E. (Kristin) Knapp, Jr.; her daughters, Alysia (Adam) Brennan and Sarah Moyer; her beloved grandchildren, Malachy and Nolan Brennan and Stella Knapp; as well as her brother, William (Peg) Schumacher.
Those preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her brother, Michael Schumacker.
Her family will receive friends from 11AM-1PM at Brookville Church of God on Saturday, September 16, 2023.
A 1PM funeral service will follow at the church with Pastor Sam Wilson, officiating.
A luncheon will follow in the church social hall.
Interment will be held privately for her family at Windy Hill/St. Johns Cemetery, Stanton, Jefferson County.
In lieu of flowers her family requests memorial donations are made in her memory to the Hahne Cancer Center in Dubois.
