Doris E. Palmer

Doris E. Palmer, 76, of Marienville, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 27, 2025 with her family at her side following a short term illness.

Born on July 4, 1949 in Entriken, PA., she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Martha Savitts Maloney.

She was a graduate of Huntingdon Area High School.

On August 27, 1976 she married Max “Skip” Palmer. He survives.

She was a member of the Bible Missionary Church.

Her pastimes included sewing, baking, cleaning, journaling, taking photos, cooking meals and making treats, shopping with her husband and sampling goodies in Amish country.

In addition to her husband, Max “Skip”, she is survived by her son, Keith (Deb) Palmer; her daughter, Rachel (Tom) Sanders; her 4 grandchildren, Colin, Sean, Cameron and Bobbie; her brothers, Dewey “Frankie” Maloney and Thomas (Terri) Maloney; and her sisters, Lavinia “Carol” Maloney, Miriam (Wayne) Henry and Nora (Melvin) Graham.

Those preceding her in death in addition to her parents, are her stillborn twin daughters; as well as her sister, Dolly Grace Dodson.

Her family will receive friends on Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 1-3PM at Furlong Funeral Home, 140 Cherry St., Marienville, PA. 

A funeral service will follow at 3PM at the funeral home with Rev. Sam Gandee, officiating.

Interment will be in North Forest Cemetery, Marienville, Jenks TWP., Forest County.
