Dorothy J. Bish

Dorothy J. Bish, 93, of Mayport, died peacefully Sunday, June 2, 2024 while at Nelson’s Golden Years after a period of declining health.

Born December 27, 1930  in Brookville, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Gladys Carr Snyder.

She attended Brookville High School and Hawthorn Nazarene Church.

She married Myron E. Bish. He preceded her in death.

Prior to her retirement she had been employed by Brookville Glove Factory and Rolo Jensen.

She enjoyed gardening.

Her survivors include her sons, Kenneth Bish and Barry (Janice) Bish; his daughters, Patty (Murray) Silvis, Joann (Tom) McAninch and Vickie Spangler; her sisters, Carol (Bob) Dry, Helen (Dave) Day and Judy Strickland; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren.

Her parents, husband and numerous siblings preceded her in death.

Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA. has been entrusted with the final arrangements for Mrs. Bish.

Her family suggests memorial contribution be made in her memory to Nelson’s Golden Years Personal Care Home and would like to extend a ”Thank You” to Jackie and her staff for caring for Nanny for the last 3 months.

Interment will be in North Freedom Cemetery, North Freedom, PA.
