Edward “Ed” King, 61, of Summerville, died early Wednesday, January 7, 2021 at Brookville Hospital as the result of an auto accident.
Born December 25, 1959 at Brookville Hospital, he was the son of the late Malcolm and Betty Garner King.
He was a graduate of Brookville Area High School, was of Methodist faith and was a member of the Brookville Eagles.
Affectionately known as” Big Ed” he spent his life helping those in the community and he enjoyed junking. But his grandchildren were #1 in his life.
His survivors include three sons, James ( Gage Minnick) Guntrum, Justin Fetter and Jonathon(Alicia) Michael; a daughter, Brianna(Cade Kennemuth) King; four sisters, Carol (Brian) Brosius, Marti (Butch) Minick, Tish (Bill) Littlefield and Pamela Johns; seven grandchildren; his friend whom he took into his home and cared for for many years, David Troutman; and his companion, Bonnie Fetter. Also surviving Ed are many nieces and nephews.
A brother, John King as well as his parents preceded him in death.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, Monday, January 11, 2021 at 10am with Rev, William Saxman, officiating. COVID-19 restriction will be followed.
Interment will follow in the Vandervort Cemetery, Clover Twp., Jefferson County.
