Gary L. “Gub” Wiles, 78, of Brookville, passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, August 5, 2025 following a period of declining health.
Born on January 25, 1947 in Brookville, he was the son of the late Frank and Lois Simpson Wiles.
He was a graduate of Clarion-Limestone High School and continued his education by obtaining an Associate’s Degree from Dubois Business School.
On July 3, 1993 at Cliff United Methodist Church he married the former Carol Brosius Martz. She survives.
Prior to his retirement he had been a truck driver for over 35 years at McCauley Trucking.
He was a member of Cliff United Methodist Church.
He loved spending time with his family and his dogs from over the years. He especially enjoyed his last pet dog, Peanut, who followed him everywhere.
Those surviving in addition to his wife, Carol, are his son, Tim Martz; his daughters, Holly Knotts, Molly Stahlman and Jackie (Brian) Sprague; his brothers, Jeff (Stacy) Wiles and Frank (Cheryl) Wiles; his sisters, Kelly (Dan) Stormer and Amy (Jim) Cassatt; his grandchildren, Bobbie Jo (Tom) Hahne, Abby (Cory) Smith, Nicole Stahlman and Courtney (Fabricio) Balino; as well as his 5 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, William Wiles; and his nephew, Joseph Wiles.
Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA. has been entrusted with the final arrangements for Mr. Wiles.
