Gene W. Boddorf

Gene W. Boddorf, 89, of Mayport, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Jefferson Manor following a period of declining health.

Born March 5, 1937, in Dixonville, Indiana County, PA, he was the son of the late C. Clair and Jennie Wise Boddorf.

Gene graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School in 1956 and continued his education by attending GE’s technical apprenticeship program in Erie.

He worked as a machinist at various machine shops in the area and retired from Jefferson Machine at age 70.  He and his wife also owned and operated D&G Produce for many years, providing Western PA with their home-grown pumpkins, watermelons, and cantaloupes.

On May 12, 1959, in Cumberland, MD, he married the former Dianne G. Beatty.  She preceded him in death on June 29, 2026.

Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his family, and being with his girls (his much-loved beagles).

His survivors include his sons, Dwight (Lisa) Boddorf and Darl Boddorf; his daughters, Dianna (Rodney) Minich, Denise (Mark) Moorman and Dana (Robert) Boddorf-Pacella; his 10 grandchildren; and his 3 great-grandchildren.

Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, was honored to handle Mr. Boddorf's final arrangements.

All services will be held privately for family.

Interment will be at North Freedom Cemetery, Ringgold Township, Jefferson County, PA.
