Gerald "Jerry" Walker Obituary

Gerald “Jerry” Walker, 79, of Summerville passed away at his home on Wednesday evening, July 1, 2026 after a period of declining health.

Born on August 14, 1946 in Brookville, he was the son of Louise Walker and the late Russell Walker.

He was a graduate of Clarion-Limestone High School.

Jerry was a proud Marine and was honorably discharged on February 27, 1968 with the rank of Corporal. During his time of service he attended USMC Automotive Mechanics School; and received the National Defense Service Metal, Vietnam Service Metal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Metal and the Good Conduct Metal.

On October 3, 1970 in Summerville he married the former Linda Freeman. She survives.

Prior to his retirement he had been employed at ACE Motor Freight for over 35 years.

He enjoyed everything USMC, John Deere collectables and memorabilia, coins, trucks, online shopping, eating Mam’s homemade goodies and spending time with family.

In addition to his mother, Louise Walker; his wife, Linda he is also survived by his daughters, JerriLynn (John) Przestrzelski, Barbara (Kevin) McLaughlin and Pamela (John) McCullough; his sons, Michael (Barbara) Clark and Ronald Clark; his 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and one on the way; 1 great great granddaughter; his sister, Darlene (Randy) Page; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Those preceding him in death in addition to his father are his brother, Edwin Walker.

His family will receive friends on Monday, July 6, 2026 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 11AM with his son in law, Kevin McLaughlin, presiding.

Graveside services with military honors to be rendered by Brookville Honor Guard will be held at Jefferson Cemetery, Clover TWP., Jefferson County to follow. 

His family would like to extend a special “Thanks” to the Veteran’s Administration and Clarion-Forest VNA for the exceptional care and assistance they provided to Jerry and their family during his declining period of health.
