Harriet M. Ellis

Harriet M. Ellis, 87, of Sigel, died Saturday, October 12, 2024 at her home of natural causes.

Born on April 29, 1937 in Hallton, PA., she was the daughter of the late John L. and Elmira Moore Handley.

She was a graduate of Ridgway High School.

On October 12, 1957 in Ridgway, she married Guy M. Ellis. They celebrated 67 years of marriage on the day she passed away.

Prior to her marriage she worked at Elk County Prothonotary Office.

She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, Guy, she is survived by her daughters, Theresa Drumm, Carrie (Terry) Gadley and Tammy (Russell) King; her grandchildren, Jesse, David, Wayne, Kyler and Lacy; and her great grandchildren, Paige, Bristol, Maverick, Grady and Eric.

Those preceding her in death in addition to her parents are her brothers, Charles and John Handley; and her sister, Josephine Motter.

Her family will receive friends on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 2-4PM & 6-8PM at Furlong Funeral Home, 140 Cherry St., Marienville, PA. An additional hour of visiting will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 10-11AM at the funeral home prior to an 11AM funeral service.

Interment will follow at Donahey Hill Cemetery, Millstone TWP., Elk County.

Her family suggests memorial contribution be made in her memory to Gateway Humane Society, 1211 Airport Road, Falls Creek, PA. 15840.
