Haven H. Reitz

Haven H. Reitz, 96, of Summerville, passed away Thursday, January 22, 1926 at McKinley Health Center. Born on December 8, 1929 in Sprankle Mills, he was the son of the late Russell and Jennie Byerly Reitz, He was a graduate of Brookville area High School. On November 3, 1948 he married the former Barbara Himes. She preceded him in death on July 26, 2005. Prior to retirement he was a truck driver for Womeldorf Trucking. He was of Lutheran faith and was a member of the Masons and Teamsters. His pastimes included visiting with friends, watching comedies, camping with Gateway Campers and antique tractors. His survivors include his son Kerry H. Reitz; his grandchildren, Chris (Kristen) Reitz and Jennifer (Jackson) “Butch’ Jones; 7 great grandchildren; and his niece and nephews, Heidi Himes, Todd Himes and David Himes. Those preceding him in death in addition to his parents and wife are his son, Michael Reitz; his granddaughter, Michelle Wilson; his sister and her husband, Burdelle (Carl) Wyant; his nephew, Jason Himes; as well as numerous extended family members. His family will receive friends on Thursday, January 29, 2026 from 10AM- 12NOON at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad ST., Summerville, PA. Interment will be in Lakelawn Cemetery, Reynoldsville, Jefferson County.
