Herbert Iman

Herbert Iman, Jr., 81, of Dayton, died Wednesday, May 21, 2025 while at Kittanning Health Care Center following a period of declining health. 

Born on October 9, 1946 in Butler, he was the son of the lateHerbert Iman, Sr. and Mary Miller Iman Closson.

He was a graduate of Butler High School and continued his education at Grace Bible College where he became an Ordained Minister.

On April 12, 1965 in Muskegon, MI., he married the former Barbara Morgan. She preceded him in death on July 7, 2021.

Prior to his retirement in 2014 he was a Sales Rep for Iman Distributing as well as being a Pastor for many years and serving many congregations.

He was a member of Dayton Global Methodist Church, Men’s Bible Study.

His pastime was pasturing to others.

He is survived by his sons, Jerry Iman and James (Kathryn Kennedy) Iman; his daughters, Loni (Timothy) Cavill and Lori (Christopher) Gallagher; his grandchildren, Jordyn and Riley Iman, Dustin and Tayla Fair, Timmy and Jack Cavill, Jada and Kden Woods.; his great grandchild, Saige Hura; his brothers, Wayne (Tami) Iman, Harry (Janice) Iman and Donald (Vicki) Iman; as well as his sister, Betty (Dane) Mincer.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death byhis step parents, Clarence Clossen and Betty Iman, his brother, John Iman; his sister, Cathy (Iman) Rueberger; and grandson, Alec James Iman.

Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville has been entrusted with the final arrangements for Mr. Iman.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later date.
