Jack T. Slaughenhaupt, 82, of Brookville, died in the early morning hours of Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Penn Highlands Dubois following a period of declining health.
Born on November 1, 1938 in Knox, he was the son of the late Willard and Ora Greeley Slaughenhaupt.
On November 6, 1971 at St. Dominic’s in Sigel he married the former Mary Martha Steele. She survives.
He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the Brookville Eagles and Firemen’s Club and the VFW in Brockway and Clarion.
Until his retirement he worked in various sawmills as an edger saw operator.
His pastimes included junking/scraping, working on cars, mowing, polka and country music, watching old westerns and The Price is Right, Nascar and the Cincinnati Bengals and participating in local pool leagues.
Those surviving in addition to his wife are his son, Robert C. Slaughenhaupt, Sr.; his daughter, Amanda J. Slaughenhaupt; as well as 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Jackie Slaughenhaupt; a daughter, Shawna L. Slaughenhaupt; a sister and several brothers.
Visiting hours for family and friends will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021 from 5-8PM at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, Pa. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 11AM at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Eldred TWP., Jefferson County.
