James D. Miller

James D. “Monk” Miller, 78, of Summerville passed away Monday, August 24,2026 at his home following a sudden illness.

Born on July 31,1948 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Christ and Freda McElroy Miller.

On December 31,1993 he married the former Laura Plotner. She survives.

Prior to his retirement in 2008 he had been employed by Sealy Mattress as a Superintendent.

His pastimes included working on cars, Antiquing and spending time with his family especially the grandchildren.

Those surviving in addition to his wife, Laura are his sons, Dennis (Terri) Miller, Christ Miller and Levi (Lynsey) Miller; his daughter, Annette Dudas; his grandchildren, Amanda (Ohls) Wyher, Conner and Cloie Dudas, Fionna, Ethan, Tabetha, Aiden Miller and Lettie Miller; his great grandson, Tommy Wyher; his brother, Duane (Rhonda) Miller; and his sisters, Patty Claypoole, Pam (Albert) Bonanni and Marcy (Kenny) Lambert.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Miller and sister, Mary Dunlap.

Furlong Funeral home, 50 Broad St., Summerville had the honor of providing the final arrangements for Mr. Miller.
