James Richardson Obituary

James “Jim” Richardson, 81, of Warren, Ohio, lost his battle with Cancer the evening of Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Snyder Memorial Home in Marienville.

Born in Kane on August 5, 1943, he was the son of the late Henry and Isabelle Brooks Richardson.

He was a 1961 graduate of Kane Area High School.

Mr. Richardson proudly and honorably served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps. He achieved the rank of Sergeant, receiving certificates in Sharp Shooting, Target, Arsenal and Weaponry Training. He also was a Red Eye Instructor, training others in portable surface to air missile systems.

In 1973 in Warren, Ohio he married the former Mildred Williams. She preceded him in death.

Prior to his retirement he had been employed at the GM Plant in Lordstown, Ohio in Security Management.

While living in Kane he was a member of the First Baptist Church, after moving to Ohio he joined the Trinity Baptist Church in Warren, Ohio.

He was a member of the Prairie Dog Association. 

He enjoyed collecting guns, hunting, muscle cars, reloading fireworks and driving race cars.

His survivors include his sons, James Richardson, Brian Richardson and Jamie Richardson; his daughter, Julie (Dan) Stanley; his grandchildren, Cassidy Richardson, Brianna (John) Harton, Tyler (Littany) Richardson, Aryss (Jamie) Pirt, Brian Richardson, Trinity McDowell, Davinci McDowell, Kayla Jackson, Dominique Richardson and Christian Richardson; his great grandchildren, Angelo, Levi, Kaine, Aura and Milan; his sister, Judith Richardson; his cousin, Johnnie Dale; special family friends, Yohanna (Michael) Maceo Swinton; as well as if former wife, Pamela Chatmon Anderson. 

His parents and wife preceded him in death.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 1-3PM at Furlong Funeral Home, 140 Cherry St., Marienville, PA. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 3PM with Pastor Bruce Koomer, officiating.

Interment will be held Friday, February 14, 2025 at 1PM at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Kane, McKean County. Military Honor Services will be conducted by Kane VFW Post # 1132.

His family suggests memorial donation be made in his memory to Disabled American Veterans or Veterans of Foreign Wars, 95 Wetmore Ave., Kane, PA. 16735.
