James “Buck” R. Fitzsimmons

James R. “Buck” Fitzsimmons, 84, of Ringgold, died Sunday, May 26, 2024 at his home of natural causes.

Born in Baxter on December 3, 1939, he was the son of the late Winfield Dickey and Bernice Marie Shields Fitzsimmons.

He was a graduate of Brookville High School and attended Roseville Independent Chapel.

On August 14, 1976 in Deanville, he married the former Sally Ann Hetrick. She survives.

Retiring on January 1, 2009 he spent his career as an Insurance Salesman.

He enjoyed farming, hunting, watching the wild life on his farm, singing, storytelling and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Sally, his survivors include his son, Trevor (Jenifer); his daughters, Tracy (Pete), Tonya (Tim) and Tara; his grandchildren, Sydney (Jun), Sarina (Austin), Sophie, Shelby, Raven (Joe), and Kaylin; his great grandchildren, Gamma and Enzo; his brother, Bob (Barbara) and his sister, Rose Swineford.

Those preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his 1st wife, Loretta Shaffer Fitzsimmons; his brothers, Thomas and Eugene, his son-in-law, Jon Yorke; and his brother-in-law, Charles Swineford.

His family will receive friends on Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 4-6PM at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, Pa. A funeral service will immediately follow at 6PM with Pastor Jim Fillhart, Roseville Independent Chapel, officiating.

Interment will be in Jefferson Cemetery, Clover Township, Jefferson County.
