Janet C. Delp, 83, affectionately known as “Chub”, of Brookville formerly of Roseville died Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at Jefferson Manor following a decline in her health.
Born on December 3, 1939 in Indiana, PA. , she was daughter of Irvin and Mae Henry Swonger.
She attended the Summerville and Knoxdale Schools.
On May 7, 1960 at the First Assembly of God Church in Brookville she married William Delp. He survives.
She was a member of First Church of God in Brookville and had been employed previously by Hilton’s Diner, Brookville Glove and Ivy Lane Personal Care Home.
Her love of the Lord in her everyday life lead her to teach Sunday School at PA Memorial Home, weekly bible studies and public speaking for Aglow, and everyday ministry over coffee at her kitchen table. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, William Delp she is survived by her daughters, Wanda (Brian) Butler and Lisa (Loren) Hoch; her grandchildren, Jennie (Greg) Hopper, Michelle (Norm) Byerlyand Mark Butler; her great grandchildren, Luke (Taylor Miller) Hopper, Mathew (Lilly) Hopper, Bradley, Lynnzee, Linkin and Charleigh Byerly; her great great grandchild, Veda Hopper; her son-in-law, Will (Trudy) Radaker; and her sister; D. Jane (Stanley) Fleming.
Those preceding her in death in addition to her parents are her daughter, Sue Ann Radaker; her brother, Raymond Swonger; and her sisters, Leona Keth and Bonnie Bortz.
Her family will receive friends on Friday, July 14, 2023 from 10-11AM at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA.
A funeral service will follow at 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Phil Conklin, officiating.
Interment will be in Roseville Cemetery, Union Township, Jefferson County.
