Joan M. Hopkins

Joan (Vanyo) Hopkins, of Anita, passed away on April 27, 2025, in the Hershey Medical Center at the age of 77
Joan was born on March 30, 1948, to John and Margaret Vanyo of Anita. She was a 1966 graduate of Punxsutawney High School. Joan married James Hopkins in 1967. Also, Joan was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Anita.
Joan leaves behind her loving husband and devoted daughter, Heather. In addition, the remaining family members include brothers-in-law Patrick, Mark (Sue), Robert (Mary Alice) and sister-in-law Mary (Gary).
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Vanyo; her brother, Eugene; and brother-in-law Kevin.
Joan was a devoted and loving caretaker of her daughter, Heather, for 43 years. 
The family would like to thank Julie and Kathy Meenan for their loving care of Heather. 
Interment will be held in Anita, at the convenience of the family.
