John J. Bednar, Sr., 93, of Kane, died Friday, October 13, 2023 at Snyder Memorial Home in Marienville.
Born on December 22, 1929 in Natrona Heights, he was the son of the late John and Mary Durkac Bednar.
He was married to the former Dorothy Wojcik. She preceded him in death.
He was the self employed owner of Natrona Slag Company, a sand and gravel company in Natrona Heights. After his retirement he worked with his son at Bednar Metals in Kane.
His pastimes included fishing and spending time with his dog.
His survivors include two sons, Jay (Donna Duck) Bednar and Joel Bednar; a daughter, Jan (John) Freshwater; a sister, Dorothy Romanick; as well as his 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Those preceding him in death in addition to his parents and wife are his son, John Bednar, Jr.; his daughter Joni Bednar; his brothers, Albert and Edward Bednar; and his infant sister, Alberta Bednar.
Furlong Funeral Home, 140 Cherry St., Marienville, PA. was entrusted with the final arrangements for Mr. Bednar.
Interment will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights,PA.
