John Todd Spindler, 77, of Brookville, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital following an illness.
Born in Brookville on June 5, 1948, he was the son of the late John and Marjorie Campbell Spindler.
He was a graduate of Brookville High School and attended Florida State University.
On August 14, 1993, in Brookville he married the former D’Anna Bullers. She survives.
He retired from National Fuel Gas, Co.
He was a member of Brookville Church of Christ.
His pastimes included hunting and farming, as well as being a member of the local band “Diamond in the Rough” where he played guitar and sang.
In addition to his wife, D’Anna, he is survived by a son, Todd (Lorie) Taylor; daughters, Dawn (Terry) Shields and Angie Spindler; his 15 grandchildren, Ben, Brie, Olivia, Emma, Sophia, Micah, Tyla Ann, Jesse, Virginia, Chuck, AJ, Zach, Sarah, Dan and Jake; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; daughter-in-law, Brenda Colyer; his brother, Tim (Brenda) Spindler; and his sister, Sharon (Sam) Bynum.
Those preceding him in death in addition to his parents are his son, John R. Colyer.
His family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 2-4PM & 6-8PM at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 11AM with Randy Matheny, Sam Nelson and Ken Thomas, presiding.
