Joseph B. Boyer, 90, of Summerville, died the morning of Sunday, August 6, 2023 while at Penn Highlands Brookville following a decline in his health.
Born in Scranton, PA on December 25, 1932, he was the son of the late Joseph and Helen Shuzda Boyer.
He was a graduate of Harrison High School and obtained a B.S. and M.A. from Seton Hall.
In Ft. Lauderdale on October 12, 1957 he married the former Geraldine Angalone.
He proudly and honorably served his country with the U.S. Army and was of Catholic faith.
Prior to his retirement he worked as a Software Systems Designer for System Engineer Laboratories, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
His hobbies included golfing and reading scientific materials.
Those surviving are his son, Jeffrey Boyer; his daughter, Christine (Frank) Zazzaro; and his brother, Don Boyer.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Barbara Hoy.
Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA has been entrusted with the final arrangements for Mr. Boyer.
There will be no services held.
Interment will be in Vandervort Cemetery, Clover TWP., Jefferson County.
