Joseph Williams

Joseph “Coach” Williams, 94, of Brookville passed away Saturday, May 30, 2026 while at Penn Highlands Brookville.

Born on September 16, 1931 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, he was the son of Frank and Mary Esposito Williams.

He was a graduate of Washington Irvin High School and was of Catholic faith.

Joe proudly and honorably served his country with the U.S. Army. He served during the Korean War and was discharged on July 8, 1960.

 He worked for National Cash Register Company in Morgantown, W. VA. prior to moving to Brookville in 1974. Here he opened Jefferson Real Estate and Insurance and until his retirement he worked as a real estate broker and appraiser. After his retirement he worked for King Krunch. There he was known for “Coach’s Potato Chips”.

Joe was known to design, build and fly model airplanes. He competed in flying events all over the U.S, many of those events were held in Muncy, IN. and California. A multi national champion in many classes he was known as “the guy to beat”. An avid skier, he was affectionately known as “Coach” to many first time and novice skiers. He skied out west and in 1986 in Switzerland. He also enjoyed golfing and was a member at Pinecrest Country Club.

While born and raised in Clarksburg, W. VA., he was proud to call Brookville his home.

He is survived by his niece and nephew, Patricia Skasik and Mark Williams.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Pete (Catherine) Williams and Frank (Adele) Williams; his sister, Angeline (Louis) Bellote; and his nephew, Steve Williams.

Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA. was honored to be entrusted with the final arrangements for Mr. Williams.

As per Joe’s wishes, there will be no services held.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice.

Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Clarksburg, W. VA.
