Kandy S. Ortz, 65, of Summerville died in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 13, 2025 at her home following a courageous battle with an illness.
Born in Grove City on October 8, 1959, she was the daughter of Albert Clinger and the late Bonnie Dolby Clinger Fitzsimmons.
She was a graduate of Brookville Area High School and she attended Hawthorn Nazarene Church.
On August 27, 1994 in Corsica she married Edwin “Ted” Ortz. He survives.
In the past she had been employed by Brookville Glove and Miller Welding.
Kandy enjoyed playing cards and Yahtzee, taking bubble baths while listening to music (especially ELVIS) and she LOVED spending time with her family, friends and her dog Peanut. As a young woman she enjoyed her Mustang and going fast in it.
Those surviving in addition to her father and husband are her son, Allen (Michelle) Clinger; he daughter, Kayla (Jason) Little; her grandchildren, Bricen (Alex) Clinger, Joey Carter, Ethan Clinger, Morgan Little, Logan Little and Kaylee Little, as well as her stepbrothers, Larry (Kim) Fitzsimmons and Lonny Fitzsimmons.
In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her stepfather, James Fitzsimmons; her stepmother, Ioma Betty Clinger; her brother, Glenn Dolby; and her grandson, Brandon Vallies.
Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 from 6-9PM at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA. with an additional hour from 10-11AM on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 prior to the funeral service.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at11AM at the funeral home with Pastor Tonya Hockenberry, presiding.
Interment will be at Shannondale Union Cemetery, Redbank TWP., Mayport, Clarion County.
Her family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Kandy’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
