Karen Deemer Obituary

Karen E. Deemer, 79, of Brookville, died Saturday, September 21, 2024 while at McKinley Health Center following a period of declining health.

Born on November 6, 1944 in Knoxdale, she was the daughter of the late James and Violet Martin Pendleton.

She attended Brookville Area High School and was a member of Kahletown Community Church.

On August 31, 1968 she married Alexander David Deemer, Jr.

Prior to retirement she was employed as a Nurse’s Aide for Homestead Rest Home and PA. Memorial Home.

She was a volunteer at both the Heritage House and the Brookville Food Pantry.

Her pastimes included reading, watching Jeopardy and playing Solitaire.

Those surviving in addition to her husband Dave, are her daughter, Johnna Deemer; her grandchildren, Kyle (Jaala) Deemer, Caleb Deemer and Aaron Kennedy; her great grandchild, Henry Deemer; her brother, Walter Pendleton; and her sisters, Jane Matthews, Judith Brown and Esther (Jack) Bish.

Those preceding her in death in addition to her parents are her brother, Donald Pendleton.

Her family will receive visitors on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 5-7PM at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA. A funeral service will follow at 7PM at the funeral home with Pastor John Johnson, officiating.

Interment will be in Center Hill Cemetery, Knox Twp., Jefferson County.
