Karen S. Wolfe, 80, of Brookville, died the afternoon of Monday, July 31, 2023 while at Penn Highlands Dubois.
Born April 5, 1943 in Clarington, she was the daughter of the late Richard (“Boyd”) and Kathryn (Burkett) McCanna.
She was a 1960 graduate of East Forest High School and was a member of Meade Chapel Church where she also served as the church secretary
In September of 1964 in Clarington she married Robert Wolfe of Brookville. He survives.
Together Karen and Bob built and operated Wolfe’s Gamebird Hatchery from 1967-1985 in Cherry Tree, PA. The business was relocated to Brookville after a devastating tornado in 1985. They retired in 2000.
Her pastimes included crafting and was an excellent cook.
Those surviving in addition to her husband, Bob, are children, Daniel Wolfe and Jennifer (David) Pearce; and her grandchildren, Brian Pearce and Kathryn Pearce; and her brother, Richard (Dick) McCanna.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Miriam Cochran.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 4th at 2:00PM at Meade Chapel.
