Kathy Ferrara

Kathy P. Ferrara, 75, of Punxsutawney formerly of Anita died, Wednesday, April 16, 2025 while at Allegheny General Hospital.

Born on April 23, 1949 in Punxsutawney, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Ray Lowmaster and Elizabeth Davis Lowmaster.

She was a 1967 graduate on Punxsutawney High School and continued on with her education at DuBois Business College where she obtained a business degree.

On April 6, 1985 at the Assembly of God in Punxsutawney she married John “Rick” Ferrara. He survives.

She was a member of Punxsutawney Assembly of God.

Her pastimes included gardening and spending time with her family who she LOVED dearly.

In addition to her husband, Rick she is survived by her son, Richard (Tracey McAfoos) Ferrara, of Anita; her daughter, Kelly Koppenhaver, of Punxsutawney; her grandchild, Rylie Koppenhaver; her great grandchild, Cooper Defelice; her nephew, Thomas Gibson; and her niece, Tami Weaver.

Those preceding her in death in addition to her parents are her brothers, Jack Lowmaster and Wayne Gibson; as well as her sister, Sandy Lowmaster.

Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville has been entrusted with the final arrangements for Mrs. Ferrara.

There will be no services held.

Her family suggests memorial donation be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
