Leason Keith Moore, 87, of Hazen, died Saturday, February 8, 2025 while at Penn Highlands DuBois following a decline in health.
Born on September 19, 1937 in Brookville, he was the son of Foster and Maime Bish Moore.
He was a graduate of Brookville Area High School and continued his education at Trade School for Welding/Small Engine Repair.
He proudly and honorably served his country with the U.S. Army.
He was married to the former Kay Lockwood. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Moore worked various jobs throughout his working career, working as a mechanic at the Federal Building in Richmond, VA and later in life he owned and operated a small engine repair shop.
His memberships included Hazen United Methodist Church, past Fire Chief of Brookside Fire Department, member of Pinecreek Fire Hall, life time Member off Warsaw Twp. Fire Police, volunteer at Brookville Food Pantry and a life time member of the Eagles Club.
He loved and enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grow and learn.
His survivors include his sons, Douglas Moore, Robert (Linda) Moore, Calvin (Dawn) Moore, Ryan (Gail) Moore, Adam (Lyndsey) Moore, Greg Winkleman and Steve Winkleman; his daughters, Leasa (Travis) Williams, Becky (Andy) Bower, Michelle and Tammy; his grandchildren, Cari, Jonathan, Shane, Jackie, Luke, Maggie, Cole and Daniel; his great grandchildren, Chloe, Nycholas, Fostyr, Quinn, Coraleigh, Parker, Clark, Austin, Mark and Eleanor; his brother, Robert Lockwood; his sister, Garnet Westover; and his former wife, Betty Barnett Moore.
Those preceding him in death in addition to his parents and wife are his brothers, Glenn Moore and Thomas Moore; his sisters, Elaine Moore Trayer and Lolita Moore Shaw; and his grandson, Nicholas.
Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville has been entrusted with the final arrangements for Mr. Moore.
There will be no public services held at this time.
A “Celebration of Life” will be scheduled and held at a later date.
Interment will be in Temple Cemetery, Hazen, Jefferson County.
His family suggests memorial donations be made in his memory to Pine Creek K-9 Search and Rescue Unit, P.O. Box 354, Brookville, Pa. 15825.
