Lloyd Caylor Obituary

Lloyd Caylor, 92, of Knox Dale, died early Monday, March 3, 2025 at Jefferson Manor following a decline in his health.

Born in Brookville on August 1, 1932, he was the son of the late William and Bessie Beer Caylor.

He attended Brookville High School.

Mr. Caylor proudly and honorably served his country with the U.S. Army obtaining the rank of Private First Class before his honorable discharge in January 1955.

On January 17, 1953, in Brookville, he married the former Dorley Beer. She survives.

At the time of his retirement in 1996 he was employed at Brookville Equipment.

He attended the Meade Chapel Methodist Church.

His pastimes included being outside, hunting, walking, cutting firewood, raising farm animals, taking care of his garden and he loved his grand dog, Phoebe.

In addition to his wife, Dorley, he is survived by his sons, Dan (Vivian) Caylor and Mark (April) Caylor; his daughter, Kathy (Wayne) Reinard; his grandchildren, Jason, Michael, Curtis, Jeremy, Chelsey and Blake Caylor, Jody Martz, Josh and Justin Reinard; as well as his great grandchildren, Preston, Landon and Braxton Martz, Matthew and Noah Caylor, KeJuan Whitson and Emmauel Che Kika.

Those preceding him in death in addition to his parents are his son, Randy (Delight) Caylor; his brothers, Floyd, Alfred, Bill and Richie Caylor; and his sisters, Eleanor and Audrey.

Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA. has been entrusted with the final arrangements for Mr. Caylor.

A “Celebration of Life” will be scheduled for a later date.

Interment will be at Meade Chapel Cemetery, Brookville, Jefferson County.
