Mark “Lamar” Stokes, 55, of Clarion, died Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at his home of natural causes.
Born in Newark, New Jersey on June 19, 1969, he was the son of the late James Porter and Barbara Stokes Thomas.
He attended West Side High School.
He enjoyed going to Wal-Mart, making people laugh, watching movies (his favorites were Scarface, any King Kong, Godzilla, Warriors and Bruce Lee movie). His favorite football team was the San Francisco 49ers, his favorite color was Blue and he loved to eat pizza and Subway.
His survivors include his daughters, Amira (Brandi) Stokes, Makia Stokes and Mya Stokes; his grandchildren, A’zaylin Thompson and Tristan Ellison; his brother, Anthony Stokes; his sisters, Janet (Sal) Hemingway, Robin (Phillip) Ford, Christine (Terrance) Henry; his sister in law, Yolanda Beyah; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Omar Beyah and Omar Cratch.
Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA. has been entrusted with the final arrangements for Mr. Stokes.
