Maudy M. Medina

Maudy M. Medina, 70, of Brockway, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026, at McKinley Health Center.

Born in Compton, California, on December 12, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Tony and Modesta Villarreal Medina.

Maudy devoted her working years to caring for children as a childcare worker at the DuBois YMCA and United Cerebral Palsy in Falls Creek. She was of the Catholic faith.

She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit. Known affectionately as “Tudy” to many family and friends, Maudy enjoyed dancing, watching movies, listening to music, playing pool, and lingering over friendly conversation at her favorite coffee shops. More than anything, she treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren. Talking with them, laughing with them, and simply being together were the moments she valued most.

She is survived by her son, Robert (Michele) Simmons; her daughters, Elizabeth (Derrick) Wells and Julianne Heasley; her brothers, Randy Medina, Robert Medina, Reginald Medina, and Edward Medina; her sisters, Catherine Medina and Mary Alexandra Medina; her grandchildren, Macy Simmons and Harlow Wells; and her former husband, Robert (Ralph) Heasley.

Those who preceded her in death are her parents, Tony and Modesta Medina.

Her family will receive friends on Friday, February 27, 2026 from 1-4PM at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St.,

Summerville, PA.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30PM at the funeral home with Monsignor Kaza, pastor, as celebrant.
