Mike Caldwell

Michael “Mike” Caldwell, 69, of Sigel, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025 with his family by his side at West Penn Hospital following an illness.

Born on August 30, 1955 in Brookville, he was the son of the late Howard and Vera Stormer Caldwell.

He was a 1974 graduate of Brookville High School.

On February 24 1972, he married the former Beverly Cable. She survives.

Prior to his retirement in September 2020 he had spent 30 years as Eldred TWP Supervisor and Road Master.

He was a member of Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church, was President of the Sigel Sportsmen’s Club, President of Mt. Tabor Cemetery Association, past President of Jefferson County Township Supervisors Association, a member of the Masons for 47 years, a lifelong member of the NRA and a Elder of his church.

His pastimes included hunting, fishing and was a “Jack of All Trades”. Mike built his own house and worked on his own cars.

Mike was a kind and generous man. He was always ready and willing to lend a hand to those in need.

He was a LOVING husband, father and grandfather. 

Those surviving in addition to his wife, Beverly are his son, John Howard (Karen) Caldwell; his grandchildren, Saren , Devon, Tristan and Cally; his great grandchildren, Kahle, Kenadie, Kade, Deakyn, Ellis, Persephone and Nathaniel; his brothers, Kenneth (Teresa) Caldwell and Timothy Caldwell; his sisters, Susan Lemasters and Elizabeth (Pat) Doksa; as well as several extended family members.   

His parents preceded him in death.

Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, PA. has been entrusted with the final arrangements.

As per his wishes there will be no services held.

Interment will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Sigel, Jefferson County.

In lieu of flowers his family suggests memorial contributions be made in his memory to either Sigel Sportsmen’s Club or Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
